Children who know a lot about their families histories have a stronger sense of control over their lives, higher self -esteem, and believed more that their families functioned successfully. Children who have the most self- confidence derive this from a strong inter-generational self. They know they belong to something bigger than themselves. If you want a happier family, create, refine, and retell the story of your family’s best moments and your relations’ ability to bounce back from the difficult ones. This act alone may increase the odds that your family will thrive for many generations to come.
